Marlena Faxon
Marlena Faxon is a Maine landscape painter who explores the reconnection of humanity with nature and self with one's local place. Her work reminds us of our commonality, interdependence, and beauty. She explores an expanded field of landscape painting in forms that bind our bodies with nature from the microscopic to the grand. She does this with a multi-material and -process approach, gathering objects from the local landscape to use as tools for image and mark making while using earth friendly materials. In reconnecting humanity to nature with expanded landscape painting that reflect our shared biology and existence, Faxon’s work affirms the vital connection between our health and the health of our environment.
