My paintings are a layering of words, marks and colors. I start by writing, drawing or painting on the surface of paper, canvas or wood panel. The words and phrases are revelations from dreams and my subconscious. During my process, I am both layering and uncovering. I love the fact that what I consider to be the most beautiful area is hidden just under the surface. I hope this work represents a small part of a greater process, which I am devoted to, of engaging with tensions, both personal and universal, between stasis and creation.
